Hatchet is a story of individual survival against great odds. It tells how a routine journey turned into a life-threatening and life-changing experience. The central character, thirteen-year-old Brian Robeson, is stranded alone at a lake deep in the Canadian wilderness after a small plane crashes after the pilot dies in flight from a heart attack. Here is your chance, 6th graders, to discuss the events of this book.

The Hatchet book title is ok. Im going to guess it is about a boy and a Hatchet. If they will change it to a more interesting book title and more people will buy it.

I think the title "hatchet" is right becase if Brian didnt have his hatchet he wouldn't have survived. He needed his hatchet.

I think the title hatchet fits because Bryan might use his hatchet for food, fire, and other helpful things for survival. I think it's about a boy who gets lost in the wilderness and he has to try to survive on his own.
