Invented Names

Brian invents names for things that are unfamiliar to him: "gut cherries," "spearwood," "foolbirds." How does he form these names? DO other people generally name things in this way, if so, give an example and explain.

No one names them, Brian is just naming them by what they do. Like the gut cherries, no one named them but they give you a stomach ache and that is why Brian named them gut cherries.

Not many peolpe name things different names. Brian gets these names by how they affect him. Such as the gut cherries. they hurt his "gut", and he threw up from his gut.
